The State Society of Iowa began nearly a century ago as a way for Iowans in the greater Washington, D.C. area to join together and celebrate the history and culture of Iowa, as well as to socially connect to one another.
Members of the State Society of I owa come from all walks of life and from all across Iowa. Some grew up in Iowa and still have deep family roots there. Others called Iowa home for only a short period of time. All of us, however, share an affinity for the 29th state.
The State Society is open to anyone who wishes to join, whether they are an Iowan, or a friend of Iowa. We hold numerous events throughout the year from picnics to wine tastings to baseball games. Please visit the membership section of our website to download the membership form. Also, check out the events page for a list of coming events. We look forward to seeing you soon at a State Society of Iowa event!
If you are interested in joining the SSI, please visit our membership page.
